Final Fantasy 13 Gameplay

I was able to rent FF13 for a week. Got up to Chapter Four before I had to return it. Recorded all of the prologue and bits of Chapter 3 so you can see the battle system in full action. Some of the videos wouldn't let me embed them and...may not work for a few people :/

Playing it on the PS3.

I can deal with the battle system a lot more then I did on 12, and so far, I like how linear it is, though I know it'll open up as I move further on. I kinda like games that start it this way and then allow players to move around freely after getting comfortable with the characters and controls. Anyway, enjoy the videos.

The custom "grid system" in this game is nice too.

Hahaha, yeah, I'm still convinced that XII was an experiment that went horribly, horribly wrong; I get what they were trying to pull off with it (the attempt to bring the feel of an MMO into a console game), but they killed it when they made it possible to have the game play itself. My only gripe in XIII's battles is that it's game over the instant your party leader dies, but it's workable and I found it really enjoyable after I got used to it. Definitely a much better game than they've been releasing in the series for a long, long time now. I was surprised as hell by it. And I feel that they got major bonus points for best use of various elements in the cutscenes later in the game.

...And I'll admit that Snow having Yuri's voice made the game way more amusing than it would've been otherwise, probably. I'd be running around with him as one of the uncontrolled party members and suddenly he'd make some comment that'd be so Yuri-ish and I'd just start laughing.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the videos, love~♥

Yea, FF13 surprised me too after the disappointment of 12. I don't understand why so many people have a problem with how linear it is :/

LOL I know! There's someone apping a Snow at Luceti and I want to see him and Yuri talk over there and wonder why the hell they sound the same XDD.

And you're welcome /o/ I may just do a walkthrough of FF13 whenever I finish Vesperia and Heavy Rain.

Fyi, I know you like Hope, but he's so hopeless early in the game |D;; Adorable, but hopeless.

I don't have a problem with the linearity in itself, I just do wish that I could go back to some of the earlier areas post-game to just stare so badly. Because they really made the areas so damn well, it's a shame that you can only go to most of them once, y'know?

Hahaha, oh man. That would be hilarious. And just seeing them interact in general would be ridiculously lulzy, too.

And yeah, I know; it's intentional for him to be that way, obviously, what with all of the shit that went down (and, honestly, up until what happened, he's the kind of kid who hid behind his mom all the time rather than fighting his own battles, so...), but he's totally hopeless at the start. Most people write him off during the first couple of chapters, from what I've seen. But he changes a lot after a while and he holds the record of "most-hugged character"... and he snuggles chocobos, damnit.

Sightseeing the area you go around in Chapter one, I'd love to see more of that crystalize lake.

Yuri probably find Snow really annoying if it's early-game. "I'M GOING TO BE A HERO!" ":|; You hang around with Karol much?"

He reminds me of Emil (and how Sazh makes me think of Raven) so I can't really bring myself to find him completely annoying, since he'll probably go through a drastic character growth and development. ...I want to see him snuggle a chocobo XD.

I'm totally not being too lazy to account-swap.

Oh god, yes. Lake Bresha was so beautiful. ;~; There's also this really nice foresty area in chapter 5 that I would've loved to be able to go back to stare at.

ROFL. Oh god, it'd be golden, though.

Characterization-wise, Sazh is one of the best damn characters in the game. They all go through some great development, so yeah. It takes a few chapters, but he eventually stops being all helpless and whiney.

You so are

FF is good at making things look pretty if everything else fails XD then again, a lot of games look pretty now <<;;

I should find a Snow on D_M to bother with Yuri.

I loved Sazh the moment he started talking XD. /pets his bitty!chocobo.

If you can believe it, Sazh gets even more awesome. And the bitty!chocobo is so adorable~
